The President's speech this morning (October 7) was clear:
It's a mission the U.S. didn't ask for but intends to fulfill. How it will affect Americans remains to be seen. At least our national support for this war on terrorism is possibly the highest our nation has had for a war since World War II. The support we have from other countries is probably the highest we've ever received for any one act. Perhaps nations realize that if such terror can happen to us, it can happen to anyone. Once nations were slow to act because they couldn't believe one man, Hitler, was capable of horrific evil. We are no longer that naïve. Man is capable of evil. (Isaiah 5:20) But we do not need to fear evil. Be aware of it, yes, but not fear it. (Psalm 23:4) If God is with us, we have nothing to fear. May God be with us all during these difficult times.
